Several youngsters in our country feel targeted when they are online cos someone or even a group of people get together to shame them, harass them. Unfortunately this also leads to suicidal thoughts in them. ‘Bullycide’ is an actual term coined for such act. In case of any such event, cyber bullying is punishable.

Any such untoward incident can lead to immediate punishment for the harasser & you don’t want to be responsible for that.

Lets use social media responsibly. Don’t think that being anonymous son social media will help you get away. Police can find anyone if they go after you. But, even more important is to do the right thing. Not just out of fear of police, but because we are responsible citizens.

We do not track ISPs unless you trigger an SOS to Akancha in any crisis situation.

The problem is not games or internet. Problem is addiction to internet. When children begin spending too much time online, do not participate in group sports on ground, dont meet friends or neglect their sleep, thats when the problem arises.

Games in themselves are not harmful. Games teach team play, strategy & collaboration. However, children need hand holding in this process like they need to be taught what kind information they should share and avoid sharing with strangers.

Parents need to be inclusive in activity of their children. They need to spend time together knowing the games kids play, their internet friends etc. This builds a relationship of trust between parents and children.

In his word “Technology bina jaise dhadkan bina desh”. He shares how whatsapp has become a tool of self help groups or even student community to effectively share knowledge.

Interestingly, Pradeep says that youth is well versed with apps like You Tube. Even children know how to use it for their interest in remote areas.
